Amrâth Hotel Alkmaar (Alkmaar, Netherlands)

The staff at the Amrâth Hotel have received accolades for being helpful. Though there is no restaurant on-site, the receptionists help the tourist with their meal requirement. Non-Dutch travellers have been thankful for the staff being multi-lingual and for helpful.

The in-house breakfast was liked by a number of guests. The buffet service and variety is good. When the number of guests is high, the hotel schedules a breakfast time to traveller's convenience. For those who do not have time for breakfast, the hotel offers packed breakfast to carry. The bar has also been noted to have a wide variety of drinks. The quality and service have been well appreciated.

The location has been ideal for many guests. It is at a walking distance from city center and train station. It is also close to the ferry service. It is well connected to rest of the city which makes it ideal for tourists.

A number of guests felt the room and hotel, in general, looked old and tired. There were complaints about carpets, curtains, furniture and decoration being worn out. Some guests have complained of stains in the wall and suggest re-painting.

The hotel has AC only in a few rooms. This could be uncomfortable for summer travellers. Additionally, there have been some complaints of weak Wi-Fi signal. Guests on a business trip have expressed dissatisfaction with this.

Guests in rooms facing the road had to deal with noisy traffic all night. Because of this, they complain that the windows could not be opened. Lack of AC in these rooms made it worse. Some claim voices from guests at the hallway could also be heard.
