Located in a wooded area of the Emilia Romagna Appenines, just 45 minutes' drive from the centre of Bologna and Modena, Borgo Fontanini offers a relaxing vacation, eno gastronomy and farm activities. The complex is a 15th century hamlet, comprising a watch-tower, a tower house and a fortified house. These buildings are made of stone and feature original tiles, wooden beams and arched windows, as well as modern comforts like fully equipped kitchens, modern bathrooms and WiFi. All structures are self catering, but there is the opportunity of having breakfast or dining in the common room. Located just 45 minutes from Bologna airport and not far from the main historical cities of Emilia Romagna, it is the perfect location for visiting Modena, Bologna, Maranello, Parma, Ferrara, Ravenna and Firenze in one day. There are activities organised at Fontanini: cookery courses for adults and children, as well as many different farm activities. The 6 hectares of land produce fruit, vegetables, lavender and honey and there is a small shop where guests can taste and buy these products directly.
