The Ancient Iuso Tower is a luxurious historical residence, situated in the heart of the Matera town centre and the Sassi quarters. The Tower, once part of the Castelvecchio walls, used to protect the Iuso Door, one of the access points to the town's original urban nucleus known as Civita. Today, the ancient Door no longer exists. The residence consists of two refined one-of-a-kind Suites, a garden overlooking Via Duomo, a spectacular balcony accessible exclusively from the Chevalier Suite, and a magnificent terrace available to all our honoured guests, from which you will enjoy a truly unique view. Your experience will be extraordinary, and through time you will cherish an unforgettable memory of it, like a most magic moment of your life. The Chevalier Suite has a Bright, soft and captivating environment, with a private balcony that offers a breathtaking view. For over two hundred years it housed the Commander of the Matera and Picciano priory of the Knights of Malta. The vaulted ceiling, the bed and the whirlpool bath constitute its central defining features. This suite especially lends itself to hosting a couple's dream holiday. Its large, elegant and functional bathroom features a chromotherapy shower. Duomo Suite, elegant, quiet, captivating, refined in its arrangement of light and shadow, offers its guests a gorgeous view of the Sasso Barisano. Also features a chromotherapy shower. Both are equipped with flat screen TV and free wi-fi.
