Guesthouse Atrium Inn & Suites (Galloway, USA)

This quaint little place is a really good option if you're frequent flyer who's fed up of staying in standard airport hotels as it has a degree of charm and which makes it feel quite distinct from the generic accommodations which surround airports these days. Being less than three miles away from the airport ensures cab fares are pretty reasonable too.

It may not make up for the lack of a breakfast offering but the presence of a free bottle of water and a packet of chips is very welcome, especially when you turn up late after a long journey.

This motel has handy anti-slam mechanisms on its doors to ensure you don't get woken up by other guests departing in the early hours. Hallelujah! If only more motels would follow suit...

It has to be said that the walls separating the accommodations really are paper thin. Indeed they're so thin that you can easily hear what your neighbors are watching on TV, even when they have the volume at a respectable level. Not cool.

With no on-site dining in the motel and nearby restaurants pretty few and far between (the nearest diner is a half-mile away), you're certainly not spoilt for choice when it comes to eating here. That being said, the front desk will happily give you the numbers of some local eateries places that deliver.

You'll have to use the stairs to get up to the top floor here. Definitely something to bear in mind if you are beset with mobility issues or have to haul a lot of luggage...
