Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent start to the day.
The vast majority of guests enjoy breakfasts at the bed and breakfast; with unlimited tea, coffee and toast on offer and locally-sourced and well-cooked Full English breakfast served too. Portions are generous and most dietary requirements can be catered for. The window for breakfast is just 30-minutes though, so you'll need to be prompt.
positive:
Ideally situated for onward travel.
For those wishing to be close to the sea, you'll be just 100m away if you opt to stay at Olivers. The guest house is also popular with those travelling further afield; the train station is a six-minute walk away, while the ferry port can be reached in 20-minutes on foot, or 8-minutes by car.
positive:
All the B&B basics covered.
Most find that the B&B has all the basics covered; hosts are friendly and welcoming, rooms are cleaned daily, showers are hot and beds are comfortable. There are also personal little touches like sweets in the rooms on arrival.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Hike to top-floor rooms.
Those with mobility issues or travelling with young children will want to avoid rooms five and six. Situated in the eaves of the building and accessible via a steep staircase, with a bathroom on a separate floor, they will be unsuitable for some.
negative:
Parking problems.
Hosts are more than happy to provide permits for parking (with a small, refundable, deposit), however, you may find parking tricky regardless.
negative:
A little updating would go a long way.
Some guests have expressed the opinion that the guest house could do with some level of refurbishment; with rooms looking a little dated. Others, however, accept that should an extensive re-decoration occur, prices would likely rise and the current rates are budget-friendly.
