A diner's delight.
It's worth noting some real money saving dining initiatives, such as the very appetising ‘buy one, get one free' offer!
The Savoy Country Inn, near St. Clears, is in a quiet location on the A477 Tenby Road. It's a popular stopping off point for Ireland-bound visitors en-route to the ferry port at Pembroke Dock. Non-smoking, en-suite, guest rooms are provided. Rooms have the usual features expected by today’s clientele and family rooms are available. The Savoy Country Inn has an authentic country inn atmosphere. The exterior area consists of a welcoming country garden area. Parking is free, Wi-Fi is provided and activity packs are offered to vsitors to this scenic West Wales region. Locally sourced meat and vegetables form the basis of the food menu. This is popular with local residents and visiting hotel guests. The latter also enjoy choices from an extensive breakfast menu. Quad biking at Oakwood Theme Park and the beaches of Tenby, Pendine, Amroth and Saundersfoot, are all within easy reach.

Rooms are clean, welcoming and comfortable. Reasonably priced, they provide excellent value, particularly when combined with the attractive public bar and well priced food options.
The first thought for many is to find accommodation in Tenby itself. Wrong! It's very expensive when compared with the accommodation costs further afield, including here. Well worth the short journey. Plus, of course, parking is free and not usually a problem.
Maybe they're suffering from the busy Saturday night before, but the long anticipated traditional Sunday Lunch is a real disappointment. The service is OK, but the content isn't. Worryingly, the menu is quite extensive and so it must be assumed, reliant upon a less than expert use of the microwave.
All the ingredients are here for an interrupted night's sleep. First there's the bar itself which can get quite ‘buzzing' as the night progresses. Then there's the busy road outside. The pub is on the A477 tourist route to the Ireland ferry, so, it's always busy.
Again, it's the food -and service of the same- that leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Reasoned adverse comments from paying guests are met by an aggressive response. Plus, it's quite understandable that dogs aren't allowed, but surely, there the message can be relayed in a pleasant manner … even in these far flung regions of Wales!
