Traditional Bar & Ychydig Hotel, (1 of the oldest buildings in Neath, grade 2 listed). There are 3 large screen televisions 2 in the bar area and 1 in the restaurant area. Mixed modern and historic . Modern clean rooms. Reception, restaurant, seating areas, pool table, darts. Neath is a small valley town. Minutes stroll, to 3 sources of public transport. Surrounded by villages ,hills and mountains, shops, our own language and culture. We aim to create a 'home from home', ambience. I would like to also point out that weekend, evenings are very noisy and therefore, would not recommend young children staying during this time, as the rooms are above the bar and their sleep could be disturbed, however children must vacate the bar after 6.30 pm. The rooms are "I believe," I decorated with varied colours and good taste. 3 Twin rooms with 2 single beds in each and 1 family room with 1 double bed and 2 single beds.Not every persons ideal but functional, comfortable and above all very clean. There is 1 staircase (10 stairs, a turn right and couple more stairs. leading to landings firstly passing office, small kitchen on the left, the Family room (with view of the back of the premises and a church, with short walkways to main town areas.) Directly opposite on the right, passing the main kitchen through (opposite a small outside area for smokers) and through fire doors which lead to small square landing and 3 twin rooms. The bar is fairly quiet during Monday to Thursday depending on the season. A key is provided to enter and leave without having to pass through the bar area. Breakfast is normally between 7 am, up to 10 am. Rooms must be vacated by 10.30 am, so that the bedroom and bar cleaning staff can clean both areas ready for guests and customers alike. The bar opens to the public at 11 am, however guests are welcome to use the seating in the eating area up to 10 am. Full cooked breakfast or lunch can be provided after 12 midday, but will be charged appropriately. We can provide a safe storage area if required for suitcases, bicycles etc. upon request. Occasionally a band is provided and finished by 10.30 pm, music or perhaps if requested karaoke, weekends we close at 1 am. Guest only access Acres of surrounding countryside, rivers and endless array of sporting activities galore! Seeped in history, Roman invasion, smugglers, churches/mining collieries, many castles. Water sports, climbing, fishing , walking, bike riding scenic trails, history and culture enthusiasts, mining caves, churches, remnants of Roman invasion and settlement, bars, restaurants, Shopping, Beach 5 minutes train ride and walk away.Friendly, approachable, regular locals, with a good mixture of 'young' and the "More Mature individual, such as myself!". Currently we provide a continental breakfast (of sorts) as we provide hot cheese/ham toasties, boiled eggs as well as; toast, teacakes, crumpets, variety of cereals, fruit, welsh cakes and scones varied jams and individual soft cheeses. Which is included in the price of your booking. However in the near future we intend to provide a full English or rather...Welsh,full breakfast, an extra charge will be incurred. Opening until late on Friday & Saturday Night, so very noisy; Karaoke, (a bit of fun though) some very good singers and some 'myself included', who would be one of the rejects of x factor.
