Positive Reviews
positive:
Unique and comfortable rooms
Guests love the rooms at the Bridewell, not only finding them unique and quirky but also clean and comfortable. It's not every day you get to sleep in a jail (hopefully) and guests appreciate the unique experience along with the hip touches such as artwork depicting musicians.
positive:
Friendly and attentive staff
The staff at the Bridewell seem to do an impressive job of making guests feel welcome. Reviews suggest that you'll find the staff is friendly and attentive and not afraid of going the extra mile to accommodate guests and individual needs.
positive:
Great value for money
The rates at the Bridewell seem to come in far lower than guests anticipate, especially for such as a central location in Liverpool. The free Wi-Fi is an added bonus, as is the 24-hour availability of tea and coffee in the lobby.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Outside noise is a concern
It probably won't come as too much of a surprise to hear that Liverpool city centre can be noisy. Unfortunately, the rooms, although comfortable, don't seem to be all that well soundproofed against external noise.
negative:
Rooms are a little small
Another issue that won't be too surprising given the fact that you'll be sleeping in a former jail cell is that some guests found the rooms a little small. This didn't impact their overall satisfaction but it seems that you shouldn't expect your room to be all that spacious.
negative:
Breakfast not served on-site
Although a continental breakfast is available, the meal is actually served in a nearby deli. The hotel just sells a voucher. This is not a huge issue and there are plenty of alternative dining spots if you fancy something different, but some guests would still prefer to be able to eat on-site.
