So close and yet so far
Clough Manor is located in a beautiful country setting where it's nice and quiet. But the wonderful thing about this hotel is how easily accessible it is. Just five minutes' drive from the J21 and J22, it's also the same distance to the train which can carry you to other parts of the Peak District and back in no time flat.
positive:
The views are spectacular
No matter which room you choose to stay in, you will not be disappointed by the spectacularly gorgeous panoramic views of the countryside that seem to stretch on forever.
positive:
This is a non-smoking hotel
This establishment prohibits smoking both inside and out which is really wonderful for those who do not imbibe and like to stay in a place that doesn't reek of second-hand smoke.
Negative Reviews
negative:
There's no lift here
Clough Manor does not have a lift which could prove problematic for those who have low mobility, are travelling with a lot of luggage or small children in tow. Luckily, there are a good number of ground floor guest rooms from which to choose.
negative:
The Wi-Fi and TV reception are spotty
Both the Wi-Fi and TV reception are a bit spotty here, as can often happen when you are out in the countryside.

The hotel needs an update
The entire property, especially the guest rooms, is crying out for an update. Dated furnishings, bedding and bathroom fixtures that have seen better days are among the worst offenders. And a new coat of paint wouldn't hurt either.
