About Hotel Golden Arches
Located on the edge of Limassol, just 600 yards from the beach, the Hotel Golden Arches Hotel offers accommodation and hospitality in the classic Greek mould.
The rooms are very simply furnished and decorated, but have a certain sense of elegance about them. Each features en-suite bathroom with hairdryer, air conditioning, flat screen TV with satellite channels, clock radio and telephone.
The Hotel Golden Arches has a beautiful and very tranquil lobby lounge, which is the ideal place to meet up over drinks. The star feature, however, is undoubtedly the hotel’s pool terrace and garden, the ideal spot to relax and soak up the sun.
The in-house restaurant is an elegant vision in white and proudly serves local Cypriot dishes, often freshly caught seafood.
The main attraction is the nearby beach, but guests travelling in to central Limassol will find it about 6.5 miles away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Close to nice stretch of beach
This was perhaps what guests most enjoyed about their stay at the Golden Arches, since most had come to Cypress for a bit of a beach break. While not right on the beach, it was not a long walk away, and guests liked that the object of their travels was so close at hand.
positive:
Lovely pool area
The pool area seemed to be one of the few aspects of the hotel that most guests agreed on. They described it as a lovely oasis, and the perfect place to cool down a bit after a long hot day on the beach.
positive:
Low room rates
While it seems most guests had issues with the hotel, some went on to add that they received a really low room-rate, so as long as one planned to eat out most of the time, and spent the bulk of the day at the pool or beach, one could have a decent value holiday.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Understaffed in the off season
There were quite a few reviews in late 2015 suggesting that the resort may be intending to close. Many guest said that they had only a skeleton staff working there, and they really couldn't deal properly with their guest even though there were not many of them.
negative:
Food a bit poor
It was hard to find a good word written about the food. The main complaint seemed to be that it lacked any sort of variety, so it very quickly became monotonous, causing guests to look elsewhere, even if on full or half board.
negative:
Rooms very basic
While some guests did like the clean and spartan nature of the rooms, most simply felt that they lacked the amenities and decoration required of a modern hotel room.
