Positive Reviews
positive:
It's a great location
The hotel is located right on the waterfront, providing for beautiful and scenic views. The entire area has been newly developed and has easy walking access to shopping, dining, and a large theater complex. It is also a central location if you're wanting to explore the Pittsburgh area.
positive:
Excellent quality stay
While the hotel is not in the luxury caliber, the entire stay is still of excellent quality. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast buffet offers a nice hot or cold, and freshly prepared meal. Overall, it's a great stay.
positive:
Above typical chain standards
The rooms and suites are better than typical standard chain fare. Many rooms have microwaves, refrigerators, and pullout sofas. There is ample work space in every room. The suites can comfortably fit an entire family.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Housekeeping misses
The cleanliness standards here, while not unhygienic, are still subpar. The carpets are not routinely vacuumed between guest visits and the furniture is dusty. Trash is allowed to collect in the lobby, common areas, and in guest rooms without being adequately disposed of.
negative:
Missing out on the finer details
It is often the finer details that takes a pleasant stay to a great stay. Unfortunately, those are missing here. The lighting in the rooms is dim and there aren't enough plugs for modern conveniences. The beds are not plush and there just aren't enough towels in the baths.
negative:
Effective customer service lacking
While the employees are friendly, they are largely ineffective when it comes to dealing with problems. If you do bring an issue to their attention or management's attention, you will likely receive a pleasant, but uncaring, apology with no real attempt to fix what is wrong.
