positive:
Remarkable Reception
Guests report feeling exceptionally welcome from the moment they step inside this property. Friendly front-of-house staff take the time to orientate new arrivals to their surroundings and explain the facilities and services on show. They also offer new arrivals a warm chocolate-chip cookie, which is loved by all.
positive:
Fabulous Facilities
Reviewers are routinely wowed by the leisure facilities offered here. While the pool is far from Olympic-sized, it satisfies most types of swimmer and is rarely oversubscribed and the steam and sauna are described by more than one visitor as the best they have encountered in any hotel.
positive:
A Diner’s Delight
Although the surrounding area is replete with fine eating opportunities, guests highly recommend eating at the in-house Maze restaurant at least once. Both the standard of the ingredients used and the specialist way in which they are prepared delight diners, while the waitstaff are incredibly attentive.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Requires Some Attention
While the vast majority enjoy a memorable stay, some suggest a little TLC is required in rooms and common areas. Old carpets in corridors show signs of ageing, while small beds with too-soft matrasses are a concern for some light sleepers. Minor maintenance issues, such a broken TVs and intermittent Wi-Fi are occasionally reported.
negative:
Breakfast Buffet not up to Scratch
For many travellers, especially those accustomed to the brand, the breakfast buffet is a slight disappointment. Complimentary, but with only a basic set of offerings, some guests find the food pedestrian and having to wait for milk and hot items to be replenished frustrating.
negative:
Slipping Service Standards
While the food served of an evening in the dining room is invariably praised by guests, aspects of the service in the restaurant let it down. Long waits between courses are a common concern, while tables lacking condiments or remaining uncleared after previous guests annoy some diners.
