The property's location on the outskirts of the city centre makes it a perfect place to stay if you want to explore Nicosia. The historic district is a five-minute walk from the hotel and there you will find a number of museums including the Cyprus Museum and the Archaeological Museum. There are also many shops and restaurants around the hotel.

The hotel's on-site restaurant can be found on the roof of the property and features an international menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests say the food at Marco Polo was pretty good and the views from it were even better. There is also a lounge bar on the roof as well.

Cyprus is known for its rich history but several travellers state that the decor throughout the hotel appears to be older than some of the city's ancient relics. These guests state that everything from the accommodations to the lobby look and feel rather dated.

A number of visitors complain about the lack of free in-room Wi-Fi at the hotel. There is free Wi-Fi available in the common areas of the property but if you want to use the internet in your room you will need to pay an additional charge.

Using the elevators at the property can be troublesome according to a few guests who claim that there were a number of times when at least one of the elevators wasn't in service.
