This property's location about ten minutes' drive south of downtown Tacoma and a short drive from Joint Base Lewis-McChord proved popular with reviewers. The proximity to Interstate 5 also enabled easy access to area attractions, museums, shopping malls, the airport, Seattle and Puget Sound. Lovers of the great outdoors welcomed being within striking distance of two Washington State national parks. There were gas stations and a cinema nearby too.

Budget-conscious visitors appreciated perks such as the free parking for vehicles of all sizes and complimentary breakfast; although some diners said there wasn't much variety. The updated rooms were often called basic but more than adequately spacious, clean and comfortable for a short stay on a budget. There was praise for the modern flat-screen TVs and usually reasonable room rates.
