Hotel Kaori Cafe and Villa (Weligama, Sri Lanka)

We are Sanwa Lanka (Sanwa Lanka is the Sri Lankan branch of Sanwa Service in Nagoya, Japan) a well-known name in vehicle import business in down south. After identifying the necessasity of a Japanese food restaurant in Weligama, we thought to give it a try. Kaori Cafe and Villa is our first step into Tourist industry. Kaori Café is the only authentic Japanese restaurant in Weligama with a wide range of exquisitely prepared traditional dishes such as Teriyaki chicken, fish, prawn or vegetables, miso soup and beautifully prepared grilled fish. Kaori Café is dedicated to serving dishes with a truly authentic Japanese flavour so many of the key ingredients are imported directly from Japan, or locally sourced and super fresh. Kaori Café also gives guests the chance to experience a range of mouth-watering dishes that combine the delicacy of Japanese cuisine with a spicy Sri Lanka twist. The restaurant is located right on the beachfront in Weligama, close to the town center. The bus station is just 300 metres away and the train station is only a three-minute tuktuk ride. The Marriott, W15 and Weligama Bay Resort hotels are 600m along the beachfront road. As well as the ground-floor café, Kaori is also a guesthouse and ideally located for experienced and novice surfers alike. The surf point is just a one-minute walk away and there are dozens of excellent surf schools along the beach. There are also numerous other attractions in the area including whale-watching, the ancient rock-cut AvalokiteshvaraBuddha statue at Kushtarajagala, the snake sanctuary, and the popular nearby resort of Mirissa.
