Positive Reviews
positive:
Unique room concept
Rooms at Ladera Resort only have three walls. There is a large opening that overlooks the Caribbean Sea where the fourth wall would have been. This creates a very unique atmosphere within the rooms that many past guests loved. This style of room allows you to sleep in nature, while still being protected from the elements.
positive:
Outstanding service
A number of past guests have praised the service at this resort. The staff is always available to answer any questions that you might have and is very helpful when making suggestions about the surrounding area.
positive:
Plunge pools in rooms
The rooms at this resort have plunge pools, which is a feature that many guests enjoyed. These pools have views of the mountains and the sea, giving yuo a perfect place to relax and enjoy the outstanding scenery in this part of the world.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Too many bugs
One problem, according to past guests, with the open room concept is that bugs tend to crawl or fly into the rooms at night, especially when the light is on. This led to guests have to turn their lights off early in the evening to ensure that bugs didn't come into their rooms. There have also been reports of bats flying into the rooms on occassion.
negative:
Loud at night
The three wall concept at Ladera Resort also means that there is plenty of noise coming from the surrounding area at night. While the noises are from harmless creatures, they have still made some past guests uneasy, making it difficult for them to sleep.
negative:
Not quite luxury
A few past guests have commented that this resort isn't quite what you would expect from a luxury resort. Some of the little extras are missing and this was disappointing for some guests.
