About Laluna
Well known on the island for its yoga pavilion and Asian spa, Laluna Resort is a boutique property offering luxury accommodation in tranquil surroundings right on the beach.
The suites and villas offer spacious bungalow style accommodation in gorgeous natural settings. Each features unique open air bathroom, private plunge pool, air conditioning, minibar, flat screen TV, ipod dock and free Wi-Fi.
The central feature at Laluna is undoubtedly its spectacular infinity pool and terrace, which has all the sun loungers and other amenities you’d expect. There is also a gym for those keeping in shape and a small library for bibliophiles.
Opening up right onto the beach, Laluna’s restaurant and lounge offers delicious Caribbean and Asian cuisine. The aptly named Sunset Lounge looks out over the pool to the western horizon and is the perfect place to toast the sunset.
The main attractions are clearly the resort itself and the lovely beach right out front.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Laid back luxury.
Guests said that there was something about this resort that instantly put them at ease. Several commented on the bohemian chic feel, and many guests thoroughly enjoyed the mix of Caribbean and Balinese decor. And while there were plenty of beach chairs and an endless white sand beach to relax on, guests were also impressed with the array of water sports on hand.
positive:
Exquisite meals.
The Italian menu with a Caribbean twist was to die for, according to guests who couldn't get enough of the delicious food. Breakfast was sometimes hit and miss, but the chef hit a home run during lunch and dinner.
positive:
Pay a visit to the spa.
While pricey to some, spa treatments were worth the indulgent cost to many. Guests were lulled into relaxation by top notch spa staff that knew a thing or two about pampering. Some guests said that it was high on the list of the best spas they had visited.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Room for improvement.
The majority of guests were very happy with their stay at Laluna. However, a few thought that accommodation served the purpose of sleeping, and not much more. Rooms were found to be dark by some, often located high on a hill, and sometimes with less than perfect views.
negative:
Hot and cold staff.
Guests frequently reported a combination of both friendly and moody staff. Customer service seemed to run the full spectrum from warm and enthusiastic to inattentive and disinterested.
negative:
Nothing around.
If you plan to park yourself on the beach with a good book, this could be the spot, but otherwise, guests noted a lack of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Taxis were expensive, but the good news was that it was a short drive to get to the action.
