Positive Reviews
positive:
Good value for money
Guests couldn’t believe how little they were paying. Considering what else was available in Montreal with the same comfort level, they felt they paid much less and had the added bonus of the facilities of the university at their disposal during their stay.
positive:
Friendly and helpful staff on hand
Guests seemed to have only good things to say about the staff at the residence. They were described as friendly and welcoming on arrival, and incredibly helpful during a guests stay, offering great practical advice and recommendations.
positive:
Metro stop nearby
Guests loved that they had a metro stop barely 200 yards from the residence. They found it really convenient, and it allowed them to explore the city quite easily.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Quite a walk to restaurants and shops
Guests mentioned that they felt a little stranded. It was said to be quite a walk, 15 minutes or so, from the residence to the nearest strip of shops and restaurants.
negative:
Too basic for some
The rooms are essentially university dorm rooms, with institutional university-issued furniture and such. Some guests found that, no matter how good the room rate, this was not what they were looking for. They seemed to feel that the word “Hotel” in the name was a bit misleading.
negative:
No in-room Wi-Fi
Several guests were shocked to discover that there was no in-room Wi-Fi. Considering the fact that the rooms are usually occupied by students who obviously need connectivity for their studies, they couldn’t understand how this could be. There were conflicting reports about whether an ethernet cable was present.
