Guests remark that the service staff at the family friendly hotel raise the bar for warm southern hospitality by going out of their way to ensure that all guest requests are processed promptly and that guests are comfortably situated in their suite and that they everything they need to ensure their comfort. The service staff is described as cordial, attentive and accommodating.

Golfing guests report that the property is an ideal base for a golf-orientated holiday with family or friends. Adjacent to Plantation Golf Course, the resort is with a five-minute drive from multiple challenging golf venues.

Guests report that the Marriott Monarch at Sea Pines was a disappointment in that it did not live up to what they considered Marriott's reputation for excellence. The older ocean front property is in a great location, the staff is stellar, but the suites are showing signs of wear and maintenance neglect. Guests commented that furniture is worn and carpeting stained.

Guests comment that they were disappointed in the property as it is a faded mimic of a once grand resort. Refurbishing is definitely in order and maintenance attention should be focused on eliminating the insect problem.

Guests comment that although the property features two swimming pools, only one of the pools is heated and because it is heated receives the most use and it can become quite crowed around the pool area with a shortage of sun loungers and parasols.
