Hotel Maya Caribe Faranda Cancún (Benito Juárez, Mexico)

The staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful, doing their best to accommodate your requests and ensure you have a pleasant stay.

The hotel is right on the beach, with easy access to the sand and the waves. It's also very close to the ferry, and it's a short walk away from a variety of shops, restaurants, and activities.

The hotel restaurant follows a different cultural theme each night, so you won't have to worry about having the same dinner options each day, even if you always choose to dine at the hotel.

The hotel has been going through a slow renovation for some time, but there are still many issues. A number of doors - both room and balcony - are difficult to close and lock properly, so there may be security concerns if you're going to stay on ground floor. In addition, guests have complained of old and faulty windows, pipes, drains, and other facilities.

The chairs provided in the chambers are not comfortable to sit in. Even worse, many of the beds are old, broken down, and in need of replacement. And if you get one of the newer ones, you'll be pleasantly surprised - don't expect them to be comfortable!

The “hot” water from taps and showers is warm at best; you don't want to go in expecting a hot shower. If you absolutely need your showers hot, you'll have to find different accommodations.
