Positive Reviews
positive:
A good breakfast.
A Blackpool bed and breakfast wouldn’t be good if the breakfast was not up to scratch, and the good news is that the breakfast at Netherton House gets a thumbs up. Guests have good words to say about the home-cooked fry-up, and rate it as one of the best parts of their stay here.
positive:
Deceptively quiet location.
Netherton House is quite close to the busy Blackpool seafront, but despite this it is in a quiet spot on a street behind the promenade, which can only be a good thing. Regarding location, Netherton House is located close to town centre shops so guests get the both of both worlds: seaside and shopping.
positive:
Positive comments about the staff.
Barring the odd comment here and there, most reviews say that the owners of Netherton House are friendly and helpful, with a number of guests saying the attention they received made all the difference to their stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms perhaps too basic.
While it is true that you get what you pay for, it is not unreasonable for a guest to expect their hotel room to meet minimum standards. Some guests at Netherton House have reported their rooms to be uncleaned, and the state of the windows has been a concern, with some windows said to be insulated with nothing more than sellotape.
negative:
No towels unless you ask.
Most hotels nowadays provide towels in the bathrooms without guests needing to ask, but at Netherton House guests do need to make the request otherwise they do not get any.
negative:
No control over the heating.
While having central heating is a good thing, on the other hand guests report that they are unable to control the temperature in their room. This has meant that some guests have felt uncomfortably hot in their rooms.
