About Hotel Saint-Andre
Situated close to Montréal’s trendy Latin Quarter,
Hotel Saint-Andre is a small hotel offering simple accommodation suitable for budget
travellers.
While the rooms are fairly basic in terms of furniture and
décor, they still contain all you’ll need for a comfortable stay, including
en-suite bathrooms and cable TV.
Reception is staffed 24 hours a day and the public area of
the hotel is air conditioned. There is a microwave in the reception area which
guests are welcome to use.
A simple breakfast is available at the hotel every morning. As for the other two meals, there are plenty of great little restaurants and cafes in the area. Reception staff can offer dining recommendations if necessary.
Hotel Saint-Andre is within a very short walking distance of the
Berri-UQAM Metro Station, and so within easy reach of much of interest in the
city. Famous Rue St. Denis, Montreal’s
main entertainment street, is just a couple of blocks away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient location
While there were some issues with the immediate neighbourhood, on the whole, guests did like the location of the hotel. They felt it was very convenient, being just a short walk from the Berri-UQAM Metro Station, which made it easy to access much of the city. They also mentioned the proximity of Rue St. Denis with its great cafes, restaurants and nightlife.
positive:
Pretty decent breakfast
Guests were actually quite pleased with the daily breakfast. They mentioned that it is a simple continental selection that is delivered to the rooms every morning. They clearly quite liked the delivery, and that they got to eat it in the comfort of their room. And the meal itself seemed to give them a decent start to their day.
positive:
Low room rates
While guests didn't go so far as to say that they felt they
received good value for money, many did mention that the room rates were
especially low, so if all one really needed was a roof over one's head in the
area, it may be a decent option.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Lots of panhandling right outside
A number of guests felt uneasy with the number of homeless people and beggars on the street immediately outside the hotel. It gave them a bad impression and they were upset about being continually approached for money.
negative:
Significant cleanliness issues
Far too many guests for comfort reported finding their room in quite a state when they first checked in, saying that the housekeeping staff had done a bad job, or perhaps even no job at all.
negative:
Very limited parking
Guests reported that there was only space for a
handful of cars onsite, and most guests had to park at other garages in the area,
which was a little inconvenient
