Hotel ShemsMoon et Spa (Marrakech, Morocco)

ShemsMoon Lodge & Spa offers en suite rooms decorated in an authentic Moroccan style with plenty of modern touches. Rooms are incredibly beautiful, with tasteful touches and a neutral but warm colour palette. The majority of the guest rooms are very spacious with open plan designs incorporating the en suite, making the space seem even bigger.

Hotel staff all offer a warm and friendly attitude that is most welcoming. The staff are also very kind, often going out of their way to ensure that all guests are well-taken care of. Most staff speak fairly good English so communication is quite good, however, French-speakers will have an easier time.

The entire ShemsMoon Lodge & Spa is very charming and decorated to reflect Moroccan style, culture and art. The open spaces are beautifully arranged and everything, from lobby and lounge through to the terraces, spa and pool areas are all immaculately clean and well-maintained.

While the hotel does offer free Wi-Fi, this service is usually only available in public areas such as the lobby and bar. Rooms do not seem to offer Wi-Fi access in a sustained manner and quite often, when it is available it can be quite spotty.

The outdoor pool is not a heated pool and the general temperature of the pool is kept quite low, this may be a bit too cold for guests more accustomed to heated pools.

The resort is situated around fifteen miles from the centre of Marrakesh and is in a fairly remote area which some may find a bit too quiet or far out. Fortunately the hotel does offer a free shuttle service to Marrakesh and local attractions.
