The staff contribute greatly to the appeal of the establishment, and attract praise from many guests as being courteous and professional. .
The location of the hotel and the style of the pool are praiseworthy, and the quality of the food is described as amazing, especially the breakfast on the patio. The cocktails served in the Martini Bar, whilst not cheap, were considered to be well worth it: “an expensive treat”. .
The hotel is beginning to appear a little worn out, paint was seen to be peeling off in the area of the pool. Guests noticed lack of attention including dirty parasols, and poor quality beach towels. The Wi-Fi access leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the bathrooms are a little too small. .
Service in the restaurant is slow, especially for breakfast, guests felt that waiting 40 minutes is too long. Some felt that the hotel no longer offers really good value for money. .
All in all this hotel is a reminder of luxury hotel life in the past, with the pool area and the beach access giving it that special exclusive feeling. Guests noted that the price of staying here is in the upper levels of hotel charges for the resort, whilst the infrastructure is beginning to creak a little. It would be encouraging to think that money would be spent here to restore all the Raleigh's former pristine glory, and add the advantages of modern 21st Century technology.
