Hotel Westway Laguardia Airport (Queens, USA)

Staff are nice and welcoming as are the room sharing strangers. The area itself has a trouble-free feel and for most travel weary guests, any street noise simply doesn't register!

It's only five stops from the bus stop arriving from the airport, so just perfect!

OK, there's no food supplied here but the area is swamped with good value, budget priced, places to eat. Some of those on Steinway Avenue - strike just the right note! - and the outstanding breakfast option near the Astoria metro serves a cheesecake to die for!

That's a polite way of saying there aren't any! Well, very few and those that are around are unprofessional and casual in their approach. There is, though, no manager in sight, so, if a problem occurs, there's nobody here who is responsible for dealing with it. Staff who are there tend to speak little English so the process of addressing queries and processing any complaints, couldn't be more difficult!

The area 'they' describe as such is across the road and in the basement of a homeless shelter. The fact that it closes around midnight is concerning on a number of levels. There isn't even a place to store your luggage. You are invited to leave it in the main entrance and trust the security camera to do its job ... Good luck with that!

Traffic directly outside the room, broken blinds, light streaming in ... of course there's a sleep disruptive problem of monumental proportions.
