The turreted castle dates back to the 19th century and is said to look extremely impressive set in acres of private grounds. Guests thoroughly appreciated the peaceful rural location as well as the stunning views of Cromarty Firth which some could enjoy from the comfort of their rooms.

The communal areas including the bar and the lounge have been described as elegantly presented and very pleasant places where guests could relax and socialise. The lounge with its slouchy leather sofas and cosy open-fire proved a popular place for the guests to sit and unwind as well as the bar which was said to boast an extensive selection of fine malt whiskies.

From the freshly prepared breakfasts through to the afternoon cream teas and evening meals, all the food served at the hotel was said to be full of flavour and made from quality local produce. Guests said that the food was well presented and the portions ample whilst many also complimented the service which was described as courteous and attentive.
