Positive Reviews
positive:
Lovely atmosphere in the pub
The locals here are very friendly and treat all the guests as one of their own. You'll enjoy a night of fun and great chat in the pub, and there's plenty of decent ales and lagers to choose from. Great for a relaxing drink or two.
positive:
Perfect location
Everything is in within walking distance from this pub. You can get to the train station in no time, and you could even walk to the golf club if you're feeling very fit. There's also plenty of things to do and see nearby such as the castle.
positive:
Great for a private party
The staff at this place certainly know how to host a party. The function room is said to be a great spot to have a wedding reception or even a birthday party. It's got a very traditional feeling and the food and drinks are excellent.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Noisy rooms
If you are unlucky, and there is a wedding or private function on during your stay, then you may be in for a late night. The noise from the function room makes it straight through to all of the rooms, so best to pack those earplugs just in case.
negative:
Inconsistent food
The food in the restaurant can be great but at times, it is exactly the opposite. This is a little strange and perhaps is due to more than one chef in the kitchen. This lets down an otherwise pleasant stay in a quiet little town.
negative:
Poor service
Some guests who have eaten in the hotel restaurant found that they had to wait for quite a while before they had their orders taken. Then they had to wait for the meal and when it arrived, more often than not, it was cold.
