Positive Reviews
positive:
The crown jewels of Egypt out your front door.
Amateur Egyptologists, monument fans and general travel-fiends rejoice. If you choose the right room, you’ll be able to wake up as the sun crests between the peaks of the pyramids. You’re also within walking distance from the Pyramids at Giza, the Sphynx and the Necropolis.
positive:
Take a dip beneath the Pyramids.
Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa offers a pair of really impressive pools. Both are massive and glisteningly clean. There is also a pool bar where you can order snacks and drinks to keep cool while you bask in the Egyptian sun in view of Giza’s marvelous monuments.
positive:
Pamper yourself while in Egypt.
Staying in the shadows of the Great Pyramids and within reach of downtown Cairo, you may wish to take a breather from your Egyptian adventures to enjoy the hotel’s lovely facilities. You can cool off in the pool, treat yourself to a spa day or enjoy a fine meal all without leaving the grounds.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No en-suite coffee or tea.
If you’re the type of person who likes to rise with the sun, sip on a cup of tea or coffee and greet the day, you’ll be one item short of perfection at the hotel. Unfortunately, guests aren’t provided with in room coffee and tea making facilities. There are several cafés in and around the hotel, though.
negative:
Iffy free Wi-Fi or paid access.
Although the hotel does provide complimentary wireless service, the signal strength tends to be a little weak and the connection can be temperamental. If you absolutely need a good signal, the hotel also offers high speed access, but it can be very expensive.
negative:
A bit of a hike from downtown.
While Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa is perfectly situated for exploring the valley of Giza, it’s also quite a ways from the rest of vibrant and historic Cairo. And getting downtown can be a real adventure, unless you can afford the hotel’s car service. Also, beware of metered taxis, as they are notorious for overcharging tourists.
