Lissiya Hotel (Fethiye, Turkey)

This hotel definitely has a special something about it. Its location - right at the top of a mountain overlooking a turquoise harbour - seems to give it an almost ethereal feel. This made for outstanding views from the pool and restaurant areas as well as from inside of the accommodation itself. Speaking of, guests loved these little cabana-like huts. Situated to allow for maximum privacy and surrounded by a meticulously tended planting scheme, the sense of privacy and quiet isolation - in addition to the spectacular views - gives the accommodation here a truly romantic feel.

Many found the food excellent and were pleased to note that the menu was varied for such an isolated location. Guests were also wowed by the Italian options, noting that the pasta was handmade by the property's chef.

In keeping with the rest of the property, the staff here are excellent. Guests report top-notch service, with bar staff in particular going out of their way to refresh drinks during the day. Those who don't drink were delighted to find that bartenders here aren't averse to knocking up fresh juices - watermelon being a particular favourite - throughout the day. The manager also appears to be especially hands-on, meeting, greeting and mingling with guests, ensuring that they have all they need for a perfect stay.

There were very few negative points to speak of here. However, those without a car did find themselves at a loose end for activities.

The Wi-Fi strength seemed to vary, weakening especially in the evenings.

Getting here isn't just hard, many felt, but dangerous. This property can only be reached by a drive along a sheer cliff face.
