Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location close to the centre of Singapore.
New Majestic is strategically located halfway between Sentosa Island with all its tourist attractions and the historic centre of Singapore, a melting pot of commerce and culture. The nearest train station to connect you across the city is just five minutes' walk away.
positive:
A funky boutique hotel with themed rooms.
This hotel is a bit different and offers you a unique place to stay. Choose from 30 themed rooms, including poolside accomodation or a large attic suite. The property is full of antique colonial furniture and describes itself as ‘heritage chic'.
positive:
Clean and tidy with friendly courteous staff.
This place is kept in fantastic condition, all the rooms and communal areas are spotlessly clean and all the facilities are well maintained. The staff here are also very helpful and offer you a warm welcome on arrival.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The breakfast could be drastically improved.
One thing that lets this hotel down is the breakfast that is served each morning. Lack of care in preparation and too few choices means you really are better off heading out to a restaurant for you morning meal.
negative:
Soundproofing is virtually non-existent here.
The walls are thin in this old building, so the sound can travel far and wide between rooms. If you have noisy neighbours you are going to hear them, so pack some earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
negative:
Staying in a small room can be a bit of a pain.
Some of the lesser priced rooms here are rather small, so small in fact that trying to share the rooms can be quite uncomfortable. You would be advised to take a look at the room upon checking in and upgrade if there is not enough space for you.
