Positive Reviews
positive:
Staff are an asset to the hotel
Whatever issues guests may have had with the hotel, and there were indeed some, almost all commended the staff and said that they were incredibly welcoming, friendly and gracious. They always seemed willing to help with issues that were within their control.
positive:
Free on-site parking
Perhaps as a result of its location, the hotel seems to offer free parking. Many motorists appreciated this, and believed it was a deal they certainly would not have got in the historical centre.
positive:
Excellent price
Many guests are travelling on something of a budget, and appreciated what they considered to be a low room-rate. Considering the money they saved they were quite happy enduing the hassles of travelling into the centre for sightseeing.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very isolated location
Guests had varied comments on the location of the Optima. While some enjoyed the location outside the centre of Krakow, and thought that public transport to the centre was excellent, others had a distinctly different opinion. The fact is that the Optima is indeed some way from the sights and streetlife, so guest who like to be in the thick of things are unlikely to be satisfied.
negative:
Noise from tour groups
The hotel is very popular with groups of pilgrims, and other large groups - both of adults and children. Large groups, especially of children, tend to be boisterous, and several guests complained that their sleep was disturbed by groups making a great deal of noise deep into the night. Earplugs may be required.
negative:
Lack of towels
While perhaps not the most serious of accusations, the complaint that there were not enough towels for the number of guests came up surprisingly often. The reason for this is unknown, but guest may need to ask for more towels, or even bring their own.
