Positive Reviews
positive:
Location near town and nature
The hotel has the huge advantage of not only being a short walk away from shops, restaurants and bars in the downtown area as well as the countless events that occur throughout the year, but also many stunning spots for nature biking and hiking, fishing at the river, skiing and more. There is truly something for everyone.
positive:
Helpful, knowledgeable staff
The staff receive many compliments on how accommodating and friendly they are, as well as for their wealth of knowledge on the area from places to see to restaurants and booking activities. There are also a few guide books and pamphlets in the library/lounge for your information.
positive:
Safe off-street parking
The Hotel Bristol has its own private parking lot which is convenient for you to park your car and walk around the town during your stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Standard guest rooms are quite small
Although clean, comfortable and with a very homely feel, the guest rooms are generally tight on space and many previous guests have commented on this. There are however the suites and family rooms which are larger (some enough for three or four people), so these are better suited to those perhaps staying longer than a few days and of course for families/groups.
negative:
No elevator
Although understandable given the age of the building, there is no elevator available for the three floors. Those with limited mobility or perhaps travelling with heavy luggage may want to request a room on the lower floor(s) to avoid difficulty.
negative:
No breakfast
The on-site Italian restaurant serves great quality food, however it is not open for breakfast and only tea/coffee in the lobby is available in the morning. There are restaurants that do serve breakfast nearby, though.
