Tropics Hotel & Hostel (Miami Beach, USA)

The hotel/hostel is fantastic for the price and location. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head, it's perfect. It's located right in the center of Collins Ave and within walking distance to the beach. Taking a stroll around the South Beach area is fun, and if your budget is tight, this is the place to stay. .

The outside kitchen is not bad. You are not provided any meals but there is a sink, microwave, blender, toaster, dishes, fridge, just the basics to get yourself a decent meal together. .

Staff are friendly enough. With all the traffic that comes through it's amazing they can be so accommodating. .

You may find a lot of questionable characters at the hotel. It seems to be a hang-out place for people down on their luck. They just appear a bit dodgy. Though no one seems violent, you can feel uneasy. .

Your food may disappear from the common kitchen area as well. Everything gets shifted around too, which can lead to your sandwich getting smashed or your eggs broken.

The cockroaches are a problem. The carpet needs to be cleaned or changed as it is full of grime. The noise can get to you as well. If you party all night and sleep all day, you might be okay. There are no conveniences like lockers available either and no ventilation in the rooms. .
