The roof also has a dome made of glass and a mosaic floor. It’s name is taken from King Vitorrio Emanuelle 11, Italy’s first king, who was on the throne when the shopping centre first opened to the public in 1877. Two major attractions in Milan are connected by the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II these are the Piazza del Duomo and the Piazza della Scala.
