Ryman Auditorium (Nashville, USA)

The Ryman Auditorium is regarded as Nashville’s premier performance hall. The auditorium was originally built as a church by Captain Thomas G.Ryman, a reformed riverboat captain, and was completed in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle. In 1943 the first Grand Ole Opry show was held in the auditorium and ever since it is also known as the “Mother Church of Country Music”. When the Grand Old Opry moved to its new home, the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, the Ryman Auditorium became vacant and stood empty until it’s revival in 1994. The building has undergone a complete restoration and many famous international artists, including REM, Keith Urban, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, have performed here.
