The Look Out Discovery Centre (Bracknell, United Kingdom)
The Look Out is an interactive activity and learning centre for children. The 80 hands-on exhibits are spread across five zones: The Forces and Movement Zone gives kids the chance to launch a rocket or a hot air balloon; in the Light and Colour Zone they can look through a two way mirror, leave their shadow on a wall or catch flying colours; the Woodland and Water Zone lets them experiment with locks while floating a boat downstream or crawl through a molehill; the Body and Perception Zone lets kids test their reactions and in the Sound and Rhythm Zone they can play a giant keyboard or test the sounds from large bamboo tubes. Outdoors there are dedicated play areas for younger and older kids, with the centre piece for the older kids’ area being a fort. There is a high, lookout tower and a picnic area. The surrounding 1000 hectares of Crown woodland allows for walking, or bicycles can be hired. There is a coffee shop inside and a gift shop. The Look Out is located 6 km from Bracknell town centre, about 7km from the M3. It is open 10am to 5pm daily (except over Christmas) and there is free parking available. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
