Ideally situated on a wide, tree-lined avenue, just 2 minutes' walk from the railway station and 8minutes' walk from the centre of town, this comfortable apartment has that rare feature amongst townhouses - a good sized garden, with orange and lemon trees. The apartment is the ground floor of an old house, built around the turn of the 19th century when ceilings were high, windows ornate and there was a general feeling of spaciousness. The Avenida, although just a few minutes' stroll from the centre of town, is sufficiently distant from the town centre to avoid noise, and is an area that is mostly 'Portuguese' rather than 'touristic'. It is a wide street, only busy at Tavira's very modest 'rush hours' (Tavira is an extremely quiet little town), and lined on both sides with jacaranda and other trees.
