Positive Reviews
positive:
Well presented rooms
The vast majority of previous guests have found the rooms at Hastings House offer a high standard of accommodation. The rooms are found to be stylish and clean with comfortable good-sized beds and modern en-suite bathrooms. Extras such as the DVD players and minibars are appreciated.
positive:
Great breakfast
Guests have enjoyed the free breakfast, often commenting favourably on the choice and quality of the items on the menu. Also, guests find that the service is relaxed. Because people come down to order at various times, serving is staggered and unhurried as a result.
positive:
Good location
Being so close to the seafront holds plenty of appeal for guests, who also note the number of restaurants and cafes in the area. The walk into the town centre will take about 15 to 20 minutes but guests mention that local buses are available should the walk prove too far.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms have some shortcomings
While the general consensus is that the room quality here is high, a small number of reviews do indicate that guests occasionally find the rooms are quite small. Some also found the lighting was quite poor. A reading light would be a welcome addition.
negative:
Potential parking problems
Although few guests encountered major issues finding a parking space, there is definitely some potential for parking to become a challenge, especially over the summer months when St Leonards-on-Sea is a popular tourist spot.
negative:
No lift in property
A number of guests comment that they found the stairs to their allocated room were quite steep. As there's no lift, mobility impaired guests will need to keep this in mind and perhaps book early to secure a room on a lower floor.
