Positive Reviews
positive:
Genuine hospitality
Guests have found the standard of service on offer here is excellent. Elaine and Alan, owners and hosts at the Lakeview Guest House, are described as genuinely friendly and welcoming. Any queries seem to be addressed quickly and the owners are happy to provide local area information.
positive:
Great breakfast
Breakfast here seems to be a real treat. Guests appreciate how it is cooked to order and say that it is cooked very well. Plus, since this property is a popular spot for guests catching ferries, the option to take breakfast with you is very much appreciated.
positive:
Comfortable rooms
Previous guests have found the rooms here are clean and comfortable with no unwanted surprises apart from perhaps the lack of a Wi-Fi signal. The beds appear to be of a good standard, towels/linens are clean and the rooms are of a sufficient size.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Road noise
Although the area in which this guest house is located is fairly quiet on the whole, some previous guests have mentioned some traffic noise. This issue only affects rooms at the front of the property and the problem seems like it would be easily rectified with ear plugs.
negative:
Bathrooms could be better
A shared bathroom won't be for everyone and since some guests were surprised by the lack of an en-suite, it pays to check carefully what room you are booking. Furthermore, guests who did have an en-suite sometimes found they were a little too small for comfort.
negative:
Occasional complaints
Much of the feedback for this property is positive and there certainly don't seem to be any significant issues. Negative comments about anything other than road noise and the bathrooms are rare and relate to very minor or one-off problems.
