The welcoming atmosphere of The Bear was a high point for many who stayed, and they found the staff to be accommodating and pleasant.

Guests found the rooms to be of generous size, stylish and generally clean and some considered them to offer a competitive price for the expensive Bath hotel market.

While many people were happy to walk downtown to the attractions of Bath, for the rest there were also buses leaving from just outside and the short taxi ride fare is not unreasonable.

A handful of guests were not overly impressed with the boutique rooms above the pub, with a small number considering the decor sparse and a little run down for their liking.
