About Hôtel de l'Avre
While situated just 700 yards from the Eiffel Tower, the De l’Avre Hotel brings a bit of the French countryside into the city with its charming and rustic garden and elegant interior.
There are rooms facing both the street and the lovely inner courtyard. All are elegantly furnished, and feature en suite bathroom, satellite TV, alarm clock, hairdryer, in-room safe and telephone.
Reception is open limited hours, and staff there are always ready to offer guests local information and recommendations. Wi-Fi is free of charge and available throughout the building.
A basic continental breakfast is available daily, and is served in the lovely garden courtyard whenever the weather allows.
Paris’ iconic Eiffel tower is just a few minutes walk from De l’Avre, while its incomparable Louvre is 2.3 miles away. There are a number of metro stations in the area, making all of Paris accessible from the hotel.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Terrific central location
While of course they knew they would be centrally located when they booked, guests nonetheless expressed their pleasure at being so much in the heart of the city. Some could try to beat the queues at the tower, while others liked that some of Paris' very best restaurants were well within walking distance of their hotel.
positive:
Exceptionally lovely courtyard garden
The little courtyard garden was probably guests favourite feature of De l'Avre. They loved having such a peaceful little oasis to retreat to right in the heart of one of the world's great cities.
positive:
Remarkably quiet
Going by guest comments, they simply couldn't get over how quiet the surrounding neighbourhood was, despite being so close to Eiffel Tower. While there were some issues with internal noise, guests described the hotel as on a quite side street in an otherwise fairly busy area.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms a bit too small for some
While they conceded it was essentially the norm in Paris, many guests still didn't much like the cramped conditions of their room. The rooms are described as very small, and best used for as little time as possible.
negative:
No air conditioning
It seems that the hotel does not have any air conditioning, and guests most certainly noticed this in summer. They described their rooms as too hot and stuffy to be considered comfortable.
negative:
Expensive and meagre breakfast
Guests found that the hotel's breakfast was somehow both meagre in what it offered, and jumbo in its cost. Since it wasn't usually included in their room-rate it was a simple matter to simply take their breakfast elsewhere.
