Situated in the heart of Paris, you’ll recognise the Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame by its two towers and its spire. Before the actual cathedral, as we see it today, there is thought to have been a pagan temple, then a basilica with 5 naves, followed by an impressive cathedral, Saint-Etienne, which was more than half the size of the actual Notre Dame de Paris. The cathedrals first stones were placed in 1163, and finished in 1250, with later renovations and adjustments. Features such as its 3 organs, its stained glass windows, 3 of which are rose windows, its paintings and sculptures can be admired. Open every day from 8 a.m until 6.45 p.m
