Positive Reviews
positive:
Rooms very clean
Whatever issues guest may have had with the hotel, cleanliness was not one of them. The overwhelming majority of guests who comment on cleanliness say that their rooms were very clean on arrival, and seemed to remain that way during the course of their stay.
positive:
Quiet for its location
Quite a number of guests were surprised by how quiet their rooms were. There is an elevated railway line that runs past the hotel, but guests seemed to find that the windows were reasonably well soundproofed.
positive:
Good restaurants and cafes in the area
While guests did have some issues with the location, a number said that they found the area, being busy, had a large number of cafes and restaurants. They never felt they had to travel far to eat well.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfast all vegetarian
A couple of guests noted that the breakfast available at the hotel had only Vegetarian Indian food available. And strict vegetarian at that, so not even eggs were available. While some guests had no problem with this, others would definitely have preferred a bit more variety.
negative:
Travel desk with inflate prices
Quite a number of guests singled out the hotel's travel desk as being a bit shady. The prices they offered were considered to be extremely inflated, and in general the advice seemed to be tailored to make them the most money, rather than assist the guest.
negative:
Area around the hotel can be intimidating
Unlike many luxury Delhi hotels the Jivitesh is in a very central downtown neighbourhood. Of course many foreign visitors are unfamiliar with the very frantic, and sometimes chaotic, atmosphere that this entails. While some guest liked this, believing it showed them the “real India”, guests who like calm and orderly surrounds may be disappointed.
