Positive Reviews
positive:
There’s live music in the bar.
When staying here, you should take advantage of the live entertainment that the Foundry Lounge features every Friday and Saturday night. It’s the perfect way to spend the evening in, while still feeling like you’re out on the town.
positive:
This is a pet-friendly place.
Mercure Sheffield Parkway is pet-friendly, which is wonderful for those who like to travel with their favourite four-legged friends. Your dog will love it too because there are lots of great walks to be had nearby.
positive:
This is a non-smoking hotel.
This is a non-smoking property which is great for those who don’t imbibe and like their surroundings smelling fresh, rather than like second-hand smoke.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The restaurant is pricey.
Considering the limited menu and average quality of the food here, the menu prices are a bit steep. Add to that, the cramped quarters where there are too many tables allotted for the space, and you have the makings of a so-so dining experience.
negative:
The Wi-Fi is spotty.
Internet service is spotty and slow here which could be problematic if you’re travelling on business or trying to get an email out in a hurry. Overall, your best bet for a decent signal is in the public spaces, where reception is usually spot on.
negative:
The hotel appears to be understaffed.
From reception to the restaurant, Mercure Sheffield Parkway is woefully understaffed. This makes for slow check-in and check-out and you may have to wait a long time to be waited on in both the restaurant and bar. Luckily, the staff they do have is pleasant and professional, despite the extra workload they must endure.
