    Stanage Edge (Hathersage, United Kingdom)

Stanage Edge is the largest gritstone edge in the Peak District National Park. It is a location for rock climbers and stretches for 3.5 miles (6KM). Its highest point is called High Neb at 458 metres above sea level. There are now over 800 different recorded rock climbs that are recognised here, with more being invented every year. At approximately halfway along the edge it is crossed by the Long Causeway, an old Roman road that originally ran from Navio, at nearby Brough on Noe, to the old town of Danum, now known as Doncaster. This road was later used as packhorse route to transport salt between Sheffield and the Cheshire salt mines.
