Positive Reviews
positive:
Location is great.
If you are travelling to the Twelve Picardy Place hotel from Edinburgh airport, getting there you’ll find it a breeze as there is a tram service straight to the centre of the city and then it’s only a two minute walk to sheer relaxation.
positive:
Funky décor.
Guests have remarked that the hotels décor is rather appealing and looks really amazing. The quirky rooms are very clean and are of a decent size with high ceilings, great facilities and delightful bath tubs, there is nothing more you could want after a hard day.
positive:
Exquisite meals.
If you decide to opt for a fine dining experience, the hotel has its restaurant in the adjoining sister property The Steak house No.14, that offers all guests staying at the hotel a 10% discount off their meals. Former guests say you can expect nothing less than haute cuisine.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfast buffet preferred.
Guests have expressed that they would have preferred a breakfast buffet rather than having a bar located on the premises. If you prefer to start your day with a hearty meal, your choices are either stay somewhere else or to trek to the nearest café.
negative:
Noise control.
Guests have suggested that you ask for a room to the rear of the building, as the noise from the front is facing a busy street and levels are quite excessive. The Twelve Picardy Place Hotel is a period property and has no double glazing.
negative:
Hike up to all floors.
God forbid you don’t suffer from arthritis and you are young and fit, as the hotel has no lift which is to be expected from a small Georgian property set over three floors. Guests have found it pretty tough going hiking luggage up to these levels.
