Reviewers liked the location of this accommodation as it put them within walking distance of upmarket Wilmslow town centre for fancy shops, dining options and trains to Manchester. Motorists welcomed the ample free car parking and proximity of the M56, A34 and Manchester city centre, all a short drive away. For air passengers, the hotel was also conveniently just a ten-minute drive along the A538 from Manchester Airport.

The customer service impressed guests, who described members of staff on reception as professional, friendly, welcoming and attentive.

The reportedly well-cleaned and generously-sized rooms and bathrooms had been tastefully modernized with contemporary decor and furnishings. Guests also appreciated the warm modern lighting and big flat-panel TVs. There was also lots of praise for the large deluxe beds. Many reviewers felt their stays represented good value for money considering the usually inexpensive room rates.

Some critics felt the heating controls were inadequate for suitably adjusting the room temperature to their liking. There were also occasional grumbles of slow free Wi-Fi speeds or a patchy signal in some areas of the property.

Even though the pub restaurant next door proved to be a convenient and pleasant dining option for many diners, some felt the breakfasts and meals were nothing to write home about. There were also reports that the service was prone to slowing down during busy periods.

Although many visitors said they had a good night's sleep, noise from neighbouring rooms and corridors was reportedly sometimes audible and caused a nuisance for several light sleepers.
