Airport Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa (Gdańsk, Poland)
Gdansk Airport (officially named Lech Walesa Airport) is located in the village/suburb of Rebiechowo within about a half hour’s drive from most areas of Tri-city. The main public transport links are to Gdansk, accessible by regular town buses and special airport service. Licensed taxis are always available and would normally cost around 10-15 euros to most areas of Tri-city. The airport has offered international flights (to Scandinavia and Germany) for many years, but has became much busier in the recent years, in particularly with an advent of cheap flights in the form of Ryanair and Wizzair. In addition to several daily commute-type flights to Warsaw, Gdansk has direct connections to Germany (including Frankfurt, Bremen, Hamburg and Munich, but strangely not Berlin) as well as Rome, Alicante, Turku, London, Birmingham, Doncaster, Liverpool and Prestwick as well as Dublin and Cork. The terminal building offers basic facilities that include a small duty free shop, banks, post office, gift shop, car hire desks and limited catering.
