Cap Blanc Nez (Escalles, France)

Cap Blanc Nez is part of the Deux Caps National Park. Unlike its twin, Cap Griz Nez, it isn’t a cape anymore but a white cliff formation, similar to the cliffs that can be found in Dover. On top of the cliff you can find a large obelisk, a memorial to the Dover Patrol for their efforts to keep the area clear of U-boats during WW1. Further there is a statue of aviator Hubert Latham. From the top of the cliff, at an elevation of 130m, you can enjoy views along the Cote Opale and on a fine day will be able to see the English coast. The cliff is home to a variety of birds and a footpath invites you for an extended walk to the twin cape in Wissant.
