Museum in Docklands (London, United Kingdom)
The Museum in Docklands is located in a historical warehouse dating from the early 1800s. Ships used to set sail from there to Africa and then onwards to the Americas with their cargo of slaves, returning to the West India Dock with sugar for storage in these warehouses. The Grade 1 listed building was renovated in 2000 and now serves as a museum which not only commemorates the regional history, but also offers a variety of other exhibitions and regular events. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible and open daily from 10h00 to 18h00 with last admissions at 17h30. Onsite facilities include a library, a souvenir shop, as well as a café and restaurant.
